Wondering who gets to park where and when? We try to make parking as fair and efficient as possible across campus. When assigning parking, we follow a priority system based on your role at Mizzou and your campus living situation.
Here’s how we rank parking assignments:
Faculty & Staff
They are first in line. Faculty and staff get top priority when it comes to parking access.
Students
Parking is assigned based on housing status and class year:
- Graduate & Professional Students / Returning MU Housing Residents
You’ve been here a while. Thanks for sticking around! Graduate/professional students and returning students living in campus housing get the next highest priority. - Incoming MU Housing Residents
Welcome to Mizzou! New students living in the residence halls are next up in the queue. - Commuters
If you live off campus and drive in, your class year determines your priority:- Seniors
- Juniors
- Sophomores
- Freshmen
Note: If you’re a commuter who needs to park overnight please fill out the overnight permit online application form.
- Others
Everyone else falls into this final category (visitors, vendors, etc.). We’ll still work to find you a space that fits your needs.
Heads up: Parking priorities may shift slightly depending on construction projects or special campus needs. Any changes will be made thoughtfully by the director of parking in consultation with campus leadership.
Still unsure where you land? Feel free to reach out to Parking & Transportation.
