Accessible Parking

A state-issued disabled placard or vehicle license plate that indicates accessible parking eligibility.

Bring a Missouri Department of Revenue form that lists your placard or plate number to the Parking & Transportation office:

121 General Services Building
900 E. Stadium Blvd.
Columbia MO 65211

Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

We’ll get you set up with campus accessible parking permissions at the Tier 2 rate.

Your doctor will need to complete Form 1776 for you.

Take it to a Missouri Department of Revenue office to get your official placard or plate.

While you wait, we can give you temporary accessible parking permission (up to two weeks) based on your license plate. Just stop by our office (121 General Services Building, 900 E. Stadium Blvd., Columbia, MO 65211).

Your state-issued placard must be clearly visible at all times when parked on campus.

You’ll also need Mizzou-issued parking permissions — just a placard isn’t enough to avoid a citation or tow.

Vehicles with valid accessible identification may park in:

  • Any non-reserved accessible space
  • A regular campus space, if accessible spots are full

Important: Metered spaces still require payment even with an accessible placard.

Accessible spaces are 11 feet wide with an adjacent 5-foot lay-down area (for van access). The full 16-foot space is reserved for a single vehicle.

If two accessible spots share one lay-down area, do not park in the middle as this will result in a citation and possible tow.

Use the Mizzou accessible parking map to locate:

  • Accessible parking spots
  • Automatic entrances
  • Elevators, ramps, barrier-free paths and more

Students with physical disabilities can contact the Mizzou Disability Center at 573-882-4696 to request on-campus rides.

A lift-equipped bus (operated by the Office of Disability Services) runs 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday–Friday, during the spring and fall semesters.
