Understand your parking permission. Know the rules.
Whether you’re new to campus or have parked here for years, all faculty and staff are expected to follow Mizzou’s parking regulations. These rules help keep our campus organized, safe and accessible for everyone.
All employees who park on campus must have a valid parking permission issued by Parking & Transportation. Find more information about Faculty & Staff Permits.
Heads up: If you park in a campus parking structure, keep in mind that your permission grants you access to the structure, not a specific spot or covered space. Availability may vary on game days and during special events.
Questions about covered parking? Please refer to this note since coverage is not guaranteed.

Mizzou uses License Plate Recognition (LPR) to manage and enforce parking. This means:
- Your license plate is your permit. No decals or hang-tags required.
- All permissions are issued virtually.
- Citations are emailed, not placed on your windshield (you may see a notice on your window only if your vehicle has multiple unpaid violations or is not linked to an active account).
- Your license plate must be visible from the driving aisle.
- Plates must be mounted horizontally and at least 12 inches from the ground.
- Tow hitches must be removed when not in use.
- No plate covers or objects that block the visibility of the numbers and letters.
- Keep your vehicle information updated in your parking account.
Employees with reserved space or reserved area permissions may register up to three vehicles, but only one vehicle is allowed on campus at a time.
- Parking permissions are non-transferable.
- Falsifying vehicle information or modifying license plates is a violation.
- Employee permits are valid only for the designated lots or structures assigned to them.
- Federal, state and other non-university payroll employees who use Mizzou parking must pay the established monthly rate in advance.
Need access to multiple areas?
Apply for extra permissions, which are assigned as space allows.
Health-related parking permissions may be granted on an individual basis. You may be asked to provide documentation from a licensed health care provider before approval.
Employees must register their vehicle on or before the date they begin parking on campus.
