Hello tiger,

Beginning May 16, MU Parking will close Tiger Avenue and Turner Avenue parking structures to address deferred maintenance repairs to extend their life span. The garages are scheduled to open in early August before summer move in.

A parking consultant determined a need of $22 million in repairs to Mizzou’s seven parking structures. Mizzou is addressing these repairs over the next 10 years beginning with Turner Avenue and Tiger Avenue garages. Conley Avenue will also undergo minor repairs this summer, but few spaces will be closed. Repairs are expected to extend the life of the garages another 30 years or more. All repairs will be funded by the additional revenue collected from new permit rates beginning in fall 2021.

  • Turner Avenue Garage (TAG) Faculty and staff TAG permits will be temporarily honored in Conley Avenue Garage, Hitt Street Parking Structure and University Avenue Parking Structure. Visitors will be directed, via signage, to metered lots (WG10 west of Turner Avenue Garage and CG17 south of Cornell Hall) nearby.
  • Tiger Avenue Parking Structure (TAPS) Forty spaces will remain open throughout the project to provide parking for faculty and staff who are needed for emergency procedures at MU Health Care. All ADA parking spaces in TAPS will remain open; however, the location of the spaces may move throughout the project, depending on where repairs are being made. TAPS-Reserved permit holders will park in WG6, which are the closest spaces available to TAPS. TAPS 3 and above will park in PS7.
  • Conley Avenue Garage (CAG) will remain open throughout the summer, although parking may be prohibited in a few spaces near stairwells. A full closure in the future will address further repairs.

Permit holders will receive a reminder email closer to the start of the project, and signage outside of structures will indicate where visitors should park.
